Ann Marie Productions was put together by Claire (Ann) Rice and Gabrielle (Marie) Gomez with the purpose of producing original work by new playwrights, to foster young emerging directors, and to bridge the gap between the college theatrical experience and the professional world for artists in all fields of theatre.

Managing Director/ Playwright/ Director: Gabrielle Gomez

Gabrielle Gomez, AMP co-founder, is a Director, Producer, Playwright, and Stage Manager, who has done theatre in the Bay Area for 8 years. Formerly of Panhandler's Theater Company, she has directed: "True West," "The Actor's Nightmare," Pinter's "Mountain Language," and the world premiere of "The Journey of the Angels," also assistant directing "West Side Story" and "The Tailor from Chihuahua."

Actress: Tea Toplak

Tea Toplak is pursuing a BA in theatre and cinema at SF State and has acted in productions including Sylvia and Taming of the Shrew. She is currently performing in the One Act Fringe at SFSU, and most recently played Lady Macbeth in an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Macbeth. She would like to give a shoutout to her family and close friends who continue to support her pursuits in the performing and cinematic arts. Much love!

Actress: Aileen Clark

Aileen Clark is very proud and excited to be part of Amp! Productions' first show! With help from her studies in Theatre at San Francisco State University, Aileen has managed to work with some wonderful people, in some wonderful shows. Some of them being: "The Journey's of the Angels" (her first lead role), "Emo! The Musical" (which she stage managed), "The Tailor from Chihuahua", "Orpheus in the Underworld" (her infamous role as a sheep) and many more. She is anxious and ecstatic to start work for her new one woman show which Amp! Productions will produce for their second season!

Dramaturg: Roy Conboy

Roy Conboy is a Chicano playwright, director, and teacher. His plays have been produced extensively throughout California and the West, mostly in Latino theatres. His children’s play Hot Tamale/Tamale Caliente just finished an extended tour of Central California schools in an outreach production mounted by PCPA Theaterfest. Other recent plays include The Journeys of the Angels, Tailor From Chihuahua, and his solo show Drive My Coche, all of which were originally produced by Teatro Esperanza in San Francisco. His older plays When El Cucui Walks, and Dancing With the Missing have also been produced extensively. As a teacher he is the head of the Playwrighting Program at San Francisco State University, teaching in both Theatre Arts and Creative Writing. Among his former students are Marcus Gardley, Peter Nachtrieb, Brian Thorstenson, Prince Gomolvilas, Garret Groenveld, Lale Shafagi, Elizabeth Gjelten, and Claire Rice. At State he also directs on a regular basis, concentrating on original plays by students, Opera, and off-campus professional/educational collaborations with alumni and current students.

Costume Designer: Mia Baxter

Mia Baxter has been happily working in theatre, creatively designing costumes and props. She has had the pleasure to work on prior productions at Marin Theatre Company, Sacramento Opera, Music Circus, The Actors Workshop, Word 4 Word, Teatro Esperanza and Intersection for the Arts, and is delighted to be a part of AMP! She in a San Francisco State alumni and can not thank Mohammad Kowsar and Roy Conboy enough.

Artistic Director/ Director/ Playwright: Claire Rice

Claire Rice graduated with her BFA in performance from Eastern New Mexico University in 2003 and her MFA in Playwrighting from San Francisco State University in 2006. She now works and teaches at SF State while working in the SF theatre scene for such companies as Thunderbird Theatre Company, No Nude Men, and Teatro de la Esperanza. Her first full length play "Pride and Succubus" was performed with Thunderbird Theatre company August 2008. She started Ann Marie Productions with a mind to get more of her works off her desk and into the wide world.

Stage Manager: Nick Ishimaru

Nick recently relocated to San Francisco from Colorado, where he grew up working on all aspects of the stage. He recently graduated from Colorado State University with a BA in Performance. Last seen on stage Alan Ayckbourn's Dreams From a Summer House, Nick has worked behind the scenes as director, designer, manager, crew runner and everything in between. Currently, Nick is working as Stage Manager for AMP and is enrolled as a full time MA student in Drama at San Francisco State University.

Dramaturg and Playwright: Megan O'Patry

Megan O'Patry's involvement with theatre began at SFSU, where she received her MFA in Creative Writing. Last spring, she worked with Gabrielle Gomez and Claire Rice in her first play, What You Need, and she's thrilled to have The Land of Infants included in AMP's premier season.

A Fund Raising Experiance

Well, our first event as AMP has come and gone and I would just like to thank all the people who made it happen:
